1981–1982 Gibson Mahogany String-Through Flying V
A mahogany-bodied, string-through-body ’58-style reissue that is separate from Gibson’s Korina Heritage Flying V.
Gibson’s first modern string-through ’58-style reissue appeared in 1981. It followed the original V tailpiece layout but used mahogany rather than Korina. This short-run model is distinct from the Korina-bodied Heritage series, which followed the ’58 recipe more closely and is documented separately on this site.
