1982 Sunburst ’67 Reissue Gibson Flying V
This entry is included here because the serial numbers themselves identify these as 1982 guitars. The owner of one example reports serial number 83142743. A second, visually similar guitar with serial number 83142735 was recently sold. The two examples indicate that this was not a one-off instrument, even though a formal Gibson release for the model has not been identified.
What is known about the model
The first owner reports that, when asked, a Gibson representative suggested the serial number might be an error and that the guitar could instead be a 1989 model. That is a reported possibility, not a confirmed correction. The matching appearance and closely grouped serial numbers of the two reported examples are consistent with more than one instrument existing.
