Gibson Flying V model details
1993–94 Gibson Cadillac Gold Limited Edition Flying V
The Cadillac Gold Flying V is a numbered limited edition, not simply a standard V in a gold refinish. Its truss-rod cover is engraved with the individual “Limited Edition” number out of 50.
Historical distinction: This is a separate edition from Gibson’s 1994 Centennial Flying V. Both are gold-finished and their dates overlap, which has led some resale catalogs to combine the names as “Centennial Cadillac Gold.” That catalog wording does not make them the same model: the Cadillac Gold is identified by its “XX of 50” truss-rod-cover marking, while the Centennial has Gibson 100th-anniversary appointments. See the Centennial Flying V page and this combined Reverb catalog entry that illustrates the naming confusion.
